Today I turned 25, and it seems like 50 is not that far away.
That feels like it is the end of life.
I have always dreamt about travelling the world, but those dreams have not yet come true. I was held back by Australia’s government regulations for three years and a long-term relationship that lasted for six. I refused to leave the country whilst in the midst of heartbreak because I did not want to feel as though I was running away from my feelings; consequently, I held myself back for another two years.
Today I turned 25 and wondered where the time went.
I am working a good job, but I am still living at home. I love my family and feel a strong sense of gratitude to be surrounded by love. Although I feel this strong urge deep inside of me, it is time to leave. I have organised dinner and karaoke with my nearest and dearest to celebrate me. This will be the first and last time all of my friends are together in one room. Tonight we celebrate my 25 years around the sun; I am proud of myself and all that I have encountered in this first quarter of my life. I am ready for my next leap.
